FAQ
How do you structure your newborn sessions to ensure success
My newborn sessions are intentionally slow, calm, and baby-led. I allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and natural moments to unfold so no one ever feels rushed. I guide you gently with relaxed posing and simple prompts, focusing on connection, comfort, and the tiny details that make this season so special. The goal is for you to enjoy the experience as much as the final images.
Where are you based and do you travel?
Based in Cornelius NC - I will travel up to 40 miles - beyond that will have an additional travel fee of $150.
Where do newborn sessions take place?
I photograph newborns in the comfort of your home — where your baby feels safest and your family can relax fully. I use natural window light and simple, cozy locations (like your bed, nursery, or living room) to create images that feel personal and authentic to your story.
What should we wear for our newborn session?
I recommend soft, neutral, breathable tones — creams, linens, warm whites, or muted earth shades. These photograph beautifully, keep the focus on your connection, and complement my warm, emotional editing style. I’m always happy to help you plan outfits or send inspiration.
How long does a newborn session last?
Typically 2-3 hours. Newborns run the show, so we take breaks whenever needed. Feeding, soothing, and diaper changes are completely normal and part of the flow.
What if my home isn’t “photo ready”?
Please don’t stress — I only need one or two clean, well-lit areas. I’m great at finding pockets of beautiful light and moving small things out of the frame. The heart of the session is your connection, not your home’s perfection.
Do you have a question?
Vix ut utinam feugait. Eu scribentur liberavisse nec. Dico fugit nostro cu pri, no putent nemore mel, ius at minim molestiae
What if my baby is fussy during the session?
Completely normal. Truly. Fussy moments often lead to some of the most tender images. We take breaks as needed, reset, feed, soothe, and continue when baby is comfortable. My entire workflow is built around patience and calm.
Can siblings be part of the session?
Absolutely — siblings are always welcome and encouraged. I usually begin with family + sibling shots while everyone is fresh, then let older children play or take breaks as needed. Sessions are relaxed and child-led, ensuring genuine, joyful moments.
What age is best for newborn photos?
Anywhere between birth and 3.5 weeks is perfect. Lifestyle newborn sessions are much easier when baby is asleep but with the lifestyle approach, we have the freedom to capture moments when baby is awake as well. Every moment has its own kind of magic.
How long do family sessions last?
Family sessions typically run 45–60 minutes, depending on your children’s ages and the light. My approach is playful, relaxed, and centered around emotional storytelling rather than stiff posing.
Where do family sessions take place?
I photograph families outdoors during golden hour or at scenic locations around the Lake Norman and Charlotte area — fields, farms, wooded trails, or lakeside spots. I can also suggest my favorite hidden gems if you’re unsure where to go. We will discuss this during our planning consult after booking!
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
That’s okay — truly. Kids are kids, and I expect movement, shyness, silliness, and everything in between. I use gentle prompts and games to help them relax and interact naturally. Some of the most meaningful images come from unscripted moments.
What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor session?
We pivot. I keep an eye on the forecast and we reschedule if it is raining or severe weather. This call is made approximated 2 hours before your session due to the unpredictability of the weather. We can also move to an in-home lifestyle session if you prefer. Your experience — and your images — should feel effortless.
What is your turnaround time?
You’ll receive a sneak peek within 48 hours and your full gallery within 2–3 weeks. During peak seasons, delivery may extend slightly, but I always communicate clearly.
Do you offer prints or albums?
Yes — I offer high-quality prints via your gallery link as well as heirloom albums (inquire via email). These are designed to last beautifully for generations and display your images the way they deserve to be seen.
How do we book a session?
Simply fill out the contact form on my website. I’ll send over availability, a brief questionnaire, and a booking link to secure your date. A deposit and signed contract officially reserve your session.
